Sparwood sees uptick in RCMP calls for service

The Elk Valley saw an increase in calls between July and September compared to the same quarter last year.

There were 401 calls in Sparwood, up from 352 in the same quarter of 2025.

There were no notable increases within the RCMP’s categories, just an overall call increase.

Policing priorities continue to be focused on impaired driving, traffic enforcement, community relations and the prolific offender management program.

In September, the detachment took part in four separate school zone speed enforcement operations.

The full quarterly report can be found here.
