Sparwood mayor ready to get to work following swear in ceremony

Sparwood’s new mayor and council have been sworn in and now the real work begins.

Mayor Hadden Kelloway said council won’t be halting previously approved projects and will make sure they get done.

“Our intention is not to reinvent the wheel, but to build upon the foundations already laid. We are fully committed to seeing key ongoing projects through to completion, ensuring time, effort and tax dollars already invested by our community yield the results you deserve,” he said.

“We will take the torch, maintain our momentum and work diligently to bring these vital initiatives across the finish line.”

He said council will have to work with all citizens to make Sparwood an even better place to live.

“We will work closely on building strong collaborative relationships with our local businesses, community groups and the Sparwood Chamber of Commerce. Our goal is clear,” he said.

“We want to ensure Sparwood remains a place where young families can afford to build their lives and where our seniors can comfortably age in place. It is our responsibility to pursue the very best, not just for those who voted for us, but for every single person, every child and everyone who calls Sparwood home.”

Council is made up of Mayor Kelloway and councillors Cayle Pasiechnyk, Joshua Frere, Steven Kallies, Sherry Benko, Jeremy Catsirelis and Dorene Sheets.
