Elko water system down until further notice

Crews are making repairs and trying to restore water service as soon as possible in Elko.

RDEK officials said the original cause of the low pressure was electrical fault.

It was repaired and service was restored but that only lasted a short time before the system went down again.

Crews started work again at 8 a.m. and will try to make the repairs as quickly as possible.

The RDEK does not have a timeline for water service to be restored.
