‘Sparwood has spoken for change’ Kelloway voted in as new Sparwood mayor

Sparwood residents have voted in Hadden Kelloway as the district’s new mayor.

Kelloway received 864 votes for 70.2 per cent of the vote, while the incumbent acting mayor Amy Cardozo got 334.

Cardozo was named acting mayor when former mayor David Wilks resigned in April.

“I’m pretty excited. The District of Sparwood has voted for change.”

He said he’s ready for the opportunity and wanted to thank the residents.

“A big thank you. A huge thank you. Everybody stepped up to the plate. We’re all in this together and I’m honored to serve the next four years.”

Cayle Pasiechnyk (966 votes), Joshua Frere (939 votes), Steven Kallies (798 votes), Sherry Benko (759 votes), Jeremy Catsirelis (692 votes), and Dorene Sheets (662) round out the council table.
