City of Cranbrook receives mobile outreach van

A new clinical outreach van has arrived in Cranbrook to provide mental health and harm reduction support in the community.

The van will help support several targeted local initiatives including a mobile drug-checking and outreach unit, naloxone training and education and expanded peer support services.

The city received $1.3 million from Health Canada for the initiative.

An open house is scheduled for April 8 at the Cranbrook Public Library.

It will run from 10-1 p.m. and visitors can meet the team, explore the new van, and learn more about the services.
