RDEK looking for information on aggressive dog in Windermere

The Regional District of East Kootenay is asking for the public’s help after receiving a report of an aggressive dog running at large near Windermere Cemetery.

The RDEK said the dog reportedly charged a person three times before circling them with raised hackles. The incident was reported at about 7:30 p.m. Monday.

The dog is described as a dark brown Mastiff-Labrador cross weighing about 80 to 90 pounds and wearing a red collar.

The RDEK is warning people not to approach or attempt to capture the dog.

Anyone with information about the dog or its owner is asked to contact the RDEK’s Columbia Valley compliance officer at 250-342-0063.
