Investigation underway to find cause of Lake Windermere boat fire

A boat fire at a dock on Lake Windermere was quickly brought under control Monday by the Windermere Fire Department.

Ten firefighters and three fire apparatus were dispatched just before noon to the fully involved boat fire. No injuries were reported.

“The prompt reporting of the fire and the rapid response by our crews helped limit the incident,” said Columbia Valley Rural Fire & Rescue Chief Drew Sinclair. “We are grateful that no injuries were reported.”

The homeowners were at the property when the fire was discovered and immediately contacted emergency services.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Fire officials said it is not considered suspicious.
