Cranbrook Public Library is helping people who undergo obstacles reading conventional print, access the experience of reading through the Centre for Equitable Library Access(CELA).
CELA provides accessible reading material to people in Canada who have a print disability or experience any sort of barrier to reading. That can include any level of vision loss, learning disabilities or physical disabilities that make reading conventional print, holding a book or turning pages difficult.
The service delivers a collection of books, magazines and newspapers in multiple accessible formats, including audio, e-text and braille.
The collection has more than 1.5 million titles available in audiobooks, digital text and braille, including options for children.
Materials can be downloaded to computers, cell phones, tablets and e-readers, and braille books can also be delivered to your home.
The Cranbrook Public Library also lends accessible reading devices, including Envoy Connect Reader and DAISY readers.

Anyone who experiences barriers to reading due to a print disability can register for a CELA account using their Cranbrook Public Library card.
