Crews are planning to start on Friday as long as conditions are suitable and allow for smoke dispersal.

The work is being done to help restore forest health and reduce the risk of wildfires in the area.

BC Wildfire Service officials expect smoke to be visible from ʔaq̓am, Cranbrook, Kimberley and surrounding areas.
