Fernie council has approved an amendment for the permissive tax incentive bylaw to add an additional property for the upcoming tax year.
The Fernie Outdoor Rink Society won’t have to pay taxes on their newly leased land from the city.
The land includes 1,700 square metres of the 15 acre city owned parcel on 250 Pine Avenue.
The society and the city worked out a lease agreement for the land earlier this year.
That lease makes it taxable despite construction on an outdoor rink not being complete.
