Davis wins in Kootenay-Rockies

BC Conservative Pete Davis has been re-elected in the Kootenay-Rockies riding.

“Thank you Kootenay-Rockies for electing for another term. I’m going to continue to work hard,” he said.

“There are a lot of things we need to get done in this riding. I’m super happy to be given the chance to get some more stuff done in this next four years.”

Davis said the riding now has a real voice with his party winning a majority government.

“When I first got involved three years ago when I started running for the Conservative Party of BC I wanted to make change. This is how we can make some change. We have a majority government,” he said.

“We have an MLA who is in government. We’re going to get stuff done in Kootenay Rockies. There are hospitals, oncology that needs to be finished, schools that need to be built, roads that need to be fixed, there’s a list of things that needs to happen and guess what guys we have a voice in Kootenay Rockies.”

Davis had 56.3 per cent of the vote, while BC NDP’s Norma Blissett had 27.2 per cent, 7.2 per cent for the Greens’ Keenen Dennehy, 5.3 per cent for AJ Wolfe of One BC and Paul Heywood had four per cent for CentreBC.
