Cranbrook’s Bowen Byram has been dealt to the Chicago Blackhawks in pre-draft blockbuster trade with the Buffalo Sabres.
Chicago went all out, giving up the fourth overall pick in this year’s draft, the 45th pick and defensemen Louis Crevier for Byram and winger Jordan Greenway.
Byram is coming off of a career high 42 point season, with 11 goals and 31 assists in 82 games.
He also made it to round two of this year’s playoffs.
Contract extension talks will now get started. Byram has a year left on his current deal, but is eligible for an extension on July 1.
