Charity fundraiser hockey game set for this weekend in Sparwood

A charity hockey game between Sparwood Fire and local first responders will take place this weekend to raise money for Angel Flight East Kootenay and the Elk Valley Suicide Task Force.

The second annual Battle of the Bravest charity game is set for Saturday, April 11. The public is invited to attend. Puck drop is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Sparwood Recreation Centre.

Admission is by donation. Attendees can watch the game, take part in in-person fundraising activities or participate in advance fundraising through an online silent auction and a 50/50 draw.

This year’s matchup will see Sparwood Fire face a mixed team of local responders from nearby fire departments, BC Ambulance and Elk Valley RCMP.

The event brings together community members, sponsors and donors to support Angel Flight East Kootenay and the Elk Valley Suicide Task Force.
