Nominations open for this years community volunteer award

The Community Foundation of the Kootenay Rockies has opened nominations for the 2026 Knights of Pythias Community Volunteer Award until November 23, 2026.

The award recognizes someone who quietly gives their time to help Cranbrook and nearby communities.

Preference goes to volunteers who haven’t already received a community or volunteer award.

The winner will choose a local eligible charity to receive $750.

The recipient will be announced on Giving Tuesday, December 1.

Nominations can be submitted through the online form here.

Last year’s winner, Tony Bourke, directed the donation to KidSport Cranbrook to help local children afford sports.
