Public input being accepted for Fernie land exchange

The City of Fernie is accepting public input on the proposed land exchange for a portion of Cedar Avenue.

The city is looking to transfer a portion of municipal road to the Ministry of Transportation and Transit in exchange for a transfer of a portion of lands to the City for the purpose of public highway.

The city will transfer approximately 799m² of the closed road at Cedar Avenue to MOTT in consideration of an exchange for approximately 933.5m² of land from District Lot 4138.

Written submissions are being accepted until 2 p.m. on June 9.

The bylaw will be up for adoption during the June 9 regular council meeting.
