More than 230 drivers were stopped at a sobriety checkpoint by Elk Valley RCMP, B.C. Highway Patrol and police dog services.
Police conducted the check stop April 23 on Fording River Road in Elkford.
Using approved screening devices, officers confirmed that all drivers checked were sober.
Police also checked vehicles for open liquor.
These checkpoints are one of the ways RCMP work to improve road safety in communities.
Through partnerships with B.C. Highway Patrol, police dog services and Elk Valley RCMP detachment officers, initiatives such as this check stop can be successful.
