Elko playground installation planned for June

The community of Elko is expecting to break ground on a new playground this June.

Back in December, the community received a $200,000 grant from the Columbia Basin Trust for the project.

The new playground will be located next to the Elko Hall.

The Elko Parks and Recreation committee said they will be connecting with everyone that offered in-kind donations of equipment and materials.

Those who purchased a bench will be contacted closer to the installation.

A few more community fundraising events are in the works to raise a bit more money for the project.
