Yearling Creek evacuation order downgraded

Three properties in the Nipika Mountain Resort area are no longer on evacuation order but remain on alert.

The order had been issued due to the Yearling Creek fire which is now 1,749 hectares.

“We want to acknowledge the tremendous work of the BC Wildfire Service to put us in a position where we can lift the Order,” says Information Officer Loree Duczek.

“It is important for residents, visitors and recreationists in the affected area to continue to be aware that there is an active wildfire in the vicinity and ensure they are staying aware and are prepared to leave on a moment’s notice should conditions change and an order needs to be re-issued.”

All evacuation alerts and orders under the RDEK can be found here.
