Police in Golden arrested a 35-year-old man and confiscated a number of weapons when RCMP were conducting an investigation into an armed robbery.

Golden RCMP officials said their officers, along with the Southeast District Emergency Response Team and Police Dog Services executed a search warrant on a residence on Moberly School Road.

This was part of an investigation into a string of robberies involving firearms in Golden on Oct. 26.

“With our partners, we were able to seize potentially deadly weapons and firearms, and intervene to prevent acts of violence from impacting the Golden community,” said Constable Robyn Diddams.

The man is being held in custody and faces charges of robbery, theft and assault.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
