Avs celebrate cup win with parade in Denver

Bowen Byram and the Colorado Avalanche took to the streets of Denver to celebrate their Stanley Cup win over the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Byram says the day was all for the fans.

“We’re having a lot of fun today, just giving back to the fans a bit,’ he says.

“Our fans have been everything to us over the year. Every team says this but we actually have the best fans in the league.”

He added the fans brought energy to every game.

“We had the loudest rink every single time we were at home. It’s unbelievable I’m so happy to be here with everyone.”

“We’re so happy to share this championship with them because they earned a lot of the credit.”

An emotional head coach Jared Bednar had this to say.

“I couldn’t be more proud of these guys,” says Bednar.

“Everyone has a story and I could go through every guy and the sacrifice they made for our team.”

“I’m amazed by every single one of them. I’m so happy for them. I’m so proud of them. I love them.”
