Over two hundred vehicles checked in Elk Valley police stop

The Elk Valley RCMP conducted a traffic stop near Baynes Lake on Friday, July 3, checking over 200 vehicles.

Police issued one three-day impaired driving suspension, and other violation tickets for speeding, insurance, and driver’s license infractions were handed out.

Officers also gave numerous warnings.

The detachment is also reminding recreationists about the mandatory boat inspection check stop.

The stop west of Sparwood on Highway 3 is mandatory for all drivers heading west through the Elk Valley with boats, kayaks, paddleboards or any recreational watercraft.

Failing to stop could result in a $690.00 ticket.
