Sparwood residents are invited to bring their previous Christmas tree to next Saturday’s Chip or Burn event.
Sparwood officials said the trees can be brought to Fire Hall #2 at any time or brought to the event.
“Join in the fun with a hot chocolate and holiday fire safety demos,” said Sparwood officials. “The Fire Department will be collecting donations for muscular dystrophy. Donations can be made at the event or dropped off at the Main Office located at 136 Spruce Avenue.”
Trees under six inches in diameter or burned if it’s any bigger.

Chip or Burn was rescheduled from its original date, Jan. 13, due to the region’s extreme cold warning that will be in place over the weekend.
The event will go ahead at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Jan 20.
