Alcohol created more than the usual number of problems for Columbia Valley RCMP over the weekend.
One driver was stopped on Sunday around 2:50 am in Invermere, as RCMP said the woman failed two roadside breath tests.
“The driver admitted to having two drinks during the course of the evening,” said Columbia Valley RCMP. “The driver was served a 90-day driving prohibition and her vehicle was impounded for 30 days.”
Meanwhile, a man was held overnight until he sobered up on Sunday as he was found to be intoxicated and not able to care for himself.
“The adult male was issued a violation ticket for being intoxicated in a public place,” said Columbia Valley RCMP.
Police found the man passed out on a bench near 7th Avenue and 5th Street in Invermere around 3:30 am.
Another man was fined after he found his way back into an Invermere bar after having already been booted out of the establishment moments before.
“On Saturday, August 10th at about 1:00 am an officer was conducting a bar walk at an establishment on 13th Street in Invermere when the officer was advised a patron had climbed a wall to get back onto their balcony.”
Columbia Valley RCMP said the man was detained for trespassing and issued a violation ticket.
Unrelated to alcohol, RCMP also arrested a woman on Sunday after responding to reports of a break and enter to an Invermere residence on 9th Street.
“Police were able to identify a suspect video surveillance,” said RCMP. “Later the same day a 50-year-old female from Invermere was arrested for break and enter and theft under $5,000.”
The woman was released on conditions to make her next court appearance to answer to the charge.
