Warm weather prompts conservation reminder

The City of Cranbrook is urging residents to keep water conservation top of mind as the weather gets nicer.

Stage 1 restrictions are currently in place, but public works has noticed a significant increase in water consumption.

Last year the community did a good job of getting water use down and the city is hoping that trend can continue.

“The citizens of Cranbrook made it possible to have enough water for quality and quantity,” said public works director Jason Perrault.

“Overall the Phillips Reservoir stayed full or near full for the majority of the summer. We had a total savings of 32,462,700 imperial gallons.”

Under Stage 1 restrictions, even numbered addresses
may water Monday, Thursday or Saturday while odd numbered addresses may water Tuesday, Friday or Sunday.

There is a maximum of two hours of watering between 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. or 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. but not both.
