Cranbrook sets the record straight on ‘proposed homeless camp’

The City of Cranbrook says rumours about a proposed homeless camp at Jimsmith Lake Park are false.

City officials say there are no plans to build a camp in the park and Jimsmith Lake Park is outside of the city’s decision making and falls under the B.C. government’s jurisdiction.

“The City of Cranbrook is extremely disappointed that this type of blatant misinformation has been allowed to be published and shared online, which serves no purpose except to incite our residents and the public for absolutely no reason,” said the city.
