Cranbrook receives grant funds for local economy diversification

The City of Cranbrook has received a grant from CanExport Community Investments to strengthen supply chains and foster innovation in the aerospace industry.

The project involves preparing investment-ready lands for development.

The total project cost is $81,000 with the grant covering half and the city covering $41,000.

“This is an initiative that fits well with our long-term development vision for future development of the industrial land at the Canadian Rockies International Airport,” said Mayor Wayne Price.

The initiative will host events in Cranbrook, Calgary and Washington State to build support and partnerships.

The goal is to make Cranbrook a key hub in the Pacific Northwest aerospace sector.
