BC deficit forecasted to swell to 9.4 billion dollars

The latest update on our province’s finances shows the deficit continues to rise.

The projected shortfall for the current fiscal year is now 9.4-billion dollars….up from the 8.9-billion in the last quarterly update in September.

Finance Minister Brenda Bailey says B-C will see “modest” economic growth over the next two years.

But she warns that there’s great uncertainty, including the threat of incoming U-S President Donald Trump’s tariffs.

Trump has threatened to impose a 25 per cent tariff on all Canadian imports until we can stem the flow of fentanyl and illegal immigrants.
