Cranbrook council adopts Baker Park development zone amendment

Cranbrook city council has adopted the zoning amendment which will allow additional housing density in the Baker Park development zone.

This includes a new middle-income apartment building with a maximum density of 36 units that is part of a partnership with BC Builds.

Community planner Santana Patten says the zone is located in a prime area.

“The location of the site is right downtown and within less than 500 metres of the transit terminal,” she said.

“It’s in walking distance to downtown amenities for working individuals.”

The campground won’t be impacted as the development area is outside of Baker Park.
