Rockies ready for Saturday preseason match up against Rockets

The Columbia Valley Rockies are getting set for their first preseason match of the 2024/25 season with back-to-back games against the Golden Rockets this weekend.

Head coach and GM Tayler Sincennes said the players are eager to hit the ice.

“Everybody is excited to be back and in the swing of things here. We get our first taste of competition against a different team Saturday against Golden,” he said.

“I know I’m excited and I think the players are all pumped to be back in the rink and getting things underway.”

He says fans will see some changes to the lineup this season, but they still have quite a few returning players.

“There are some major differences, obviously, we’re without a 20-year-old goalie and lost some faces, but there’s a good returning crop and the right returning crop has come back this year,” he added.

“It looks like we’ll have some pretty good young players and I think they will be impact players.”

Puck drop is at 7 p.m. for both games.
