Two men hospitalized with gunshot wounds in Trail

Trail RCMP is seeking information after two Lower Mainland men were dropped off at a the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital, in Trail, with gunshot wounds on Saturday, August 17.

Police were called to the hospital around 1:22am where a 45-year-old Langley man and a 40-year-old Surrey man were in critical condition.

According to Sgt Mike Wicentowich with the Trail RCMP detachment, both men are expected to survive their injuries in what is believed to be a targeted incident.

“We believe this was a targeted incident or an isolated incident. We don’t believe it involved anyone in the public and we don’t believe it was in a public setting.”

The location of the shooting remains under investigation.
