The City of Fernie is asking residents to stay out of the skate park construction area until work wraps up.
City staff said there isn’t a lot of work left, but it’s important residents stay away due to some safety hazards.
The roof structure for the covered section of the park should be finished in a few weeks.
Landscaping is being finalized and will be fenced off to allow the plants a chance to establish over the winter.
Finally, construction fencing and equipment will be removed and the park will be open to the public.
A big grand opening ceremony will then take place in the Spring.
