Theft foiled after crash on Highway 95

Suspects have been identified for two Columbia Valley thefts after crashing on Highway 95.

On April 17, the Columbia Valley RCMP got a theft report from a hotel in Radium Hot Springs.

Approximately $600 was stolen along with some spare room keys at around 5 a.m.

Shortly after, police received a report that some mailboxes were broken into in Fairmont.

Police believed the thefts were done by the same people.

At 10 a.m. police were called to a single-vehicle collision on Highway 95.

The vehicle involved had been stolen out of Cranbrook the night before and a search found evidence from both thefts.

Suspects have been identified and the police are continuing their investigation.
