South Country Firefighters Raising Money for Muscular Dystrophy

Members from the various South Country Fire Departments will be raising money on Saturday for Muscular Dystrophy Canada.

Since 2004, the firefighters have raised over $50,000 for the cause.

Muscular Dystrophy is an overarching term that is used to describe more than 160 different neuromuscular disorders, which are most often linked to progressive deterioration of muscle strength.

Since 1954, Fire Departments across Canada have supported Muscular Dystrophy Canada in a variety of fashions, most often by filling an empty fire boot with donations.

The South Country Fire Departments are set to do the same on Saturday, August 31, 2019, as they will be set up at the four corners intersection of Jaffray Baynes Lake Road and Kikomun Road near Kikomun Creek Provincial Park.
