RCMP are undertaking recovery efforts after a Czech Republic man fell to his death Wednesday afternoon from Crowsnest Mountain in an apparent climbing accident.

According to RCMP, they received a report around 4:30 pm from Emergency Medical Services that a hiker had fallen.

RCMP pronounced the 58-year-old man deceased at the scene.

Police said the Czech Republic man was climbing with two friends at the time of the incident, where the man fell to his death.

Authorities are not releasing the name or identity of the man.
