Three readings given for lot rezoning in final Fernie council before election

Fernie City council has given three readings for a zoning change to neighbourhood commercial in the Hand Avenue area.

The city received an application to change Lot 5 and a portion of Lot 4 to neighbourhood commercial from residential small scale.

The city is including some special regulations if the zoning change gets approved.

Personal services would be a permitted use, gas bars are prohibited and the maximum parcel area is 2,250 sq.m.

While the current council has given three readings, it will be up to the new council to approve the amendment as there are no more council meetings before the municipal election.
