BC Hydro power outage planned in Invermere next week

A planned power outage is scheduled to affect about 40 customers in Invermere on Tuesday, Sept. 29.

BC Hydro will carry out work on its equipment affecting properties at 1505-1763 9th Ave., 1751 10th Ave. and 902 17th St.

The outage is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The District of Invermere advised residents to prepare by charging phones and other devices ahead of time, keeping a flashlight accessible, keeping refrigerator and freezer doors closed and unplugging sensitive electronics.

BC Hydro said planned outages can be rescheduled because of adverse weather, safety concerns or if crews are needed to respond to emergencies.
