Cranbrook wants local businesses to help build its economic future

The City of Cranbrook and Chamber of Commerce are asking local businesses to share feedback through a Business Retention and Expansion(BRE+) survey.

The BRE+ survey is open now until October 2, and all Cranbrook businesses, small or large, are encouraged to take the survey.

The survey’s intended purpose is so businesses can directly share what is working well, where they need support and what would help them grow.

Cranbrook’s Economic Development Officer, Darren Brewer, said this survey is a way to understand what local businesses need to succeed in Cranbrook.

“Listening to our business community is essential to good planning. The BRE+ survey gives local employers a voice in shaping Cranbrook’s future, helping us better understand their needs, identify opportunities for growth, and make informed decisions that support a strong and resilient local economy,” said Brewer.

Feedback provided from the survey will guide the city’s economic development plans and future decisions regarding local businesses, growth, and investments.

Executive Director of the Cranbrook Chamber of Commerce, Stacey Brensrud is grateful the city invited the chamber to be a part of this survey.

“We appreciate being invited to the table to work with the City on this project. Our members know firsthand what it takes to do business in Cranbrook, and their input is valuable in helping inform how the City supports existing businesses and attracts new investment. This kind of collaboration ensures the business community has a voice in decisions that affect Cranbrook’s economic future,” said Brensrud.

All Cranbrook businesses are encouraged to participate, including small shops, home-based businesses, manufacturers and large employers.

The overall goal is to strengthen the local economy, attract new investment and create more opportunities in Cranbrook.
