Sparwood approved DVP for fourplex project

Sparwood council has approved a development variance permit application for fourplex developments in the Westwood Heights development.

The developer was looking for reductions in the minimum floor area and lot area.

This permits the development of smaller one-bedroom and two-bedroom units within four-plex buildings.

District staff didn’t see any issues and once Sparwood reached 5,000 residents it would be a moot point anyways.

Provincial legislation will require that a minimum of four dwelling units be permitted on lots of this size once the population is over 5,000.
