Apartment project planned for Kootenay Street North in Cranbrook

Cranbrook council has authorized a notice of intent for a development variance permit request for a new apartment project.

The city received an application for a proposed 53-unit, six-storey apartment building at 2360 Kootenay Street North.

The DVP request is for several variances related to parking, setbacks, and off-site improvements.

The developer wants to reduce parking stalls from 106 to 76.

A similar development permit and variance permit were approved in 2022, but those permits have since expired.

The scope of the project has been reduced since then.
