City presents 2026 Cranbrook Citizenship Awards

The City of Cranbrook has presented this year’s citizenship awards to nine local students.

The awards are given to students who show leadership and make the community better.

“They excel within the school community and the Cranbrook community with volunteering, supporting and showing leadership qualities at a young age,” said Mayor Wayne Price.

“They’re the ones who are stepping up and making a difference already.”

The awards were handed out to Mount Baker Secondary students Rose Bernard, Omeisha Colman, Jorja Shortridge, Laurie Middle School students Alivia Shortridge, Aiden Killam, Sydnie Northey and Parkland Middle School students Graham Van Hussen, Auria Williams, and Renee Hoyt.
