Public hearing coming for Sparwood traffic regulation changes

The District of Sparwood is in the process of updating its traffic regulations bylaw and will be going to an informal public hearing.

The changes includes increases to fines under impoundment, enforcement and inspection.

It would raise the maximum fine from $2,000 to $10,000.

There are a number of changes in the proposed bylaw amendment, but most are for clarity improvements.

It adds new definitions and defines specific areas like designated or no truck routes.

More information on the proposed bylaw can be found here.

Council elected to not give the bylaw three readings at this time and a informal public hearing will be held to gather input from the community.
