Cranbrook council approved a request from the Rotary Club for their agents and contractors to get permission to undertake work on the site of the upcoming seniors facility.
The Rotary Club previously approached the city about putting a seniors housing facility on a portion of municipal land.
City staff said the Rotary Club still has to obtain all the necessary permits before real work can start.
Even though some work can get started, city staff also said it does not allow all of Rotary’s pending permit applications to jump the queue.
The Creekside Village seniors facility plans to feature 12 affordable seniors housing units.
