Experience on the Horizon brings music and community together in the Kootenays

The Symphony of the Kootenays is inviting residents and visitors to gather for an evening of music, storytelling and community connection at On the Horizon, an outdoor concert at Fort Steele Heritage Town.

The performance is scheduled for Saturday, June 27, at 7:30 p.m.

The event will feature the Symphony of the Kootenays alongside the Eagle Bear Spirit drum group and storyteller Joe Pierre in a collaborative performance celebrating local culture and artistic partnership.

Organizers said the concert is designed to bring people together through a shared cultural experience in an outdoor setting in the Kootenays.

Tickets also include daytime admission to Fort Steele Heritage Town, giving attendees an opportunity to visit exhibits, explore the grounds and support one of the region’s historic attractions before the evening concert.

The Symphony of the Kootenays said community collaboration remains central to its work as the organization marks 50 years of performances and arts programming in the region.

Organizers said events such as On the Horizon help strengthen connections between local artists, audiences and cultural organizations while supporting access to live performance in southeastern British Columbia.

Tickets are available at SOTK.ca.
