Dynamiters force Game 7 with 5-1 win over Posse

The Kimberley Dynamiters forced Game 7 in the KIJHL Cup final with a 5-1 win over the Princeton Posse.

Luke Davies led Kimberley with two goals and four points, while Toren Fron scored the winning goal short-handed.

“We made a few adjustments and I like how the players listened and executed on them,” said Dynamiters head coach and general manager Derek Stuart. “It was a matter of time until we started getting rewarded for going to the net and getting pucks to the net. We are built for a seven-game series. We’re getting better and better as the series goes on.”

Davies’ first goal stood as the insurance marker as Kimberley pulled away. Adam Kisilevich made 24 saves for the Dynamiters, allowing the lone goal to Ben Dods.

Kimberley chased Princeton starter Gibson Horne, who allowed five goals on 18 shots in 36:15. Reliever Sharky Nowek stopped all 18 shots he faced.

Game 7 will be played in Kimberley, on Thursday, April 30.
