Dynamiters one win from KIJHL final after Game 3 victory over Nitehawks

The Kimberley Dynamiters are on the brink of the KIJHL championship series after a 3-1 win over the Beaver Valley Nitehawks, taking a commanding 3-0 lead in the series.

Jaden Rusznak led the way with two goals, bringing his playoff total to 10 and powering the Dynamiters to within one victory of advancing.

Goaltender Adam Kisilevich turned aside 25 of 26 shots, with the lone goal against coming from Brady Walker at 13:43 of the second period.

Luke Davies played a key role in the win, setting up the game-winning goal before sealing it with an empty-netter late in the third.

“We battled hard and limited our mistakes and were able to lock it down in the third period,” Dynamiters head coach and general manager Derek Stuart said after his team allowed just six shots in the final frame.

“Davies is a warrior. His effort and compete level was excellent.”

Beaver Valley goaltender Landan Uzeloc made 32 saves in a strong effort despite the loss.

A crowd of 1,138 took in the game at the Kimberley Civic Centre.

The Dynamiters will look to complete the sweep in Game 4 and punch their ticket to the KIJHL final.

The puck drop on Game 4 will start at 7 p.m. in Kimberley tonight.
