Sparwood Welcomes New Planning and Development Director

The District of Sparwood has welcomed a new Director of Planning and Development with past experience in Kimberley and internationally to its team.

The District said that its latest addition, Schaun Goodeve, was formerly the City of Kimberley’s Manager of economic development and brings plenty of experience with him into his new role.

“There are numerous exciting projects currently underway in Sparwood that I am looking forward to working on. I am eager to begin reviewing planning functions at the District to ensure efficiency and clarity, as well as make certain that customer service is a top priority,” said Goodeve.

According to Sparwood, Goodeve is an award-winning economic developer and registered professional planner, with nation-wide and international experience. It added that Goodeve currently serves as a director on the Board of Economic Developers Canada, and brings in-depth knowledge of the planning and economic landscape of B.C.

“We are really happy to have Schaun join the team,” said David Wilks, Sparwood’s Mayor. ‘The combination of his planning and economic development experience is very fitting as we continue to work towards meeting our goals and objectives within the municipality. Schaun is known for his ability to work collaboratively and we are confident that he will build and develop positive relationships with residents and stakeholders to continue with the strong, vibrant vision for Sparwood’s future.”
