The speed limit at the Wildstone Drive/McPhee Road intersection in Cranbrook has been dropped to 30 kilometeres per hour.
City staff said it will help improve intersection safety and traffic sightlines in the Wildstone area.
This comes after feedback heard during an OCP and zoning amendment application for a development in the area.
Residents expressed concerns around traffic volumes and speed.
That is why the city is also exploring options for a secondary road connection to Wildstone Drive.
No specific timeline has been set as to when this second road access is to be dedicated or completed as it depends on future development.
