The Golden Hospital Gala is returning for a second year.
The East Kootenay Foundation for Health (EKFH) and the Golden & District Hospital Gala Planning Committee are teaming up to plan this fundraising event, with proceeds going to the purchase of a portable ultrasound for the Golden & District Hospital.
According to EKFH, portable ultrasounds do not require specialized technicians. Nurses and physicians can operate them with ease and provide immediate results to patients who require care.
“This will allow staff to quickly access patient information at the bedside or in the emergency department, resulting in quicker and improved patient care.” said EKFH.
This year’s Moulin Rouge-themed event will take place on Nov. 15 at the Golden Civic Centre, with a full evening of live entertainment, themed decor, dinner and cocktails, a live auction, and some surprises throughout the night inspired by Moulin Rouge.
Last year, the event sold-out, and $28,000 were raised to support funding for furniture and equipment upgrades at Duran Manor.
Tickets for this year’s gala is $150 per person or $1200 per table of eight. Tickets can be bought on the EKFH website.
