Over 100 responders are still searching for missing five-year-old Darius Mcdougall in the Crowsnest Pass.
He went missing at around 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, where he had been walking with six young relatives near their campsite, but did not return with them. No adults were present at the time.
A large-scale search is still underway with over 100 responders and 68 trained searchers on site, including Sparwood Search and Rescue.
Police said the search radius is being expanded from 3 kilometres to 6.6 kilometres.
RCMP drones, helicopter, police dogs, forensic identification services, general investigation section and an RCMP plane have been deployed.
Multiple water passes have been completed and underwater teams are confident he is not in a local lake or pond. However swift water crews will continue to examine nearby streams.
Police said there is still hope for a positive outcome. Overnight lows have been between 4-11 degrees, which wilderness medicine experts said are survivable conditions.
An Amber Alert has not been issued as police believe there is no evidence of an abduction.
