The District of Sparwood is urging residents to do their part in reducing wildlife attractants.
District officials said residents have the responsibility to make sure attractants like fallen fruit, bird feeders and pet food are removed.
It’s also important that people follow the garbage bylaws and don’t place garbage out for collection before 5 a.m. on collection day.
Bins should also have bear-resistant locks and be secured in a shed, garage, or to a fence.
Any extra garbage should be properly disposed of at the RDEK Sparwood transfer station.
